1977 Topps Mexican Walter Payton

I was wondering if anyone could give me some info on this card. I figure since there is not one on Ebay it is probably hard to find. What should I expect to pay for a PSA 7 or 8 quality card to add to my Payton Registry? Thanks in advance!

It's tough to find in top condition just because it is a Topps Mexican, but it's not one of the impossible short prints. Mike Hattley has some available on his website, anywhere from gum stained to SGC 88, ranging from $300 to $650. I looked at the SGC 88 a while back with the notion of crossing it to PSA 8, and in my opinion it would not cross. He doesn't have a scan up, but IIRC it was about 35/65 with one pretty bad corner. Good luck, that's a cool card and I'd love to have a high grade example some day. FYI, the rushing leaders card #3 with Payton IS a shortprint, and might cost you as much as the base card

As I was typing my reply I remembered the SGC 88 went unsold in a Leland's auction a few years ago. So I checked, and sure enough they still had a picture up. The centering is better than I remember, but that top right corner is ugly.

I saw the card in person as well and it appears to be more of a PSA 7 caliber card - tough card regardless.

Thanks guys! There is a beat up one on display at the Walter Payton museum, I think now I will try and go after a PSA 4 or 5

Hi everyone have been reading on the psa boards for a long time. Here is a #3 payton I have. I have owned 3 of these and this is the best. It is hard to find this card without the yellow staining. This is pack fresh with no gum. Always looking for mexican singles and have some extras
