Home Trading Cards & Memorabilia Forum

Probably a stupid question..

I have two cards - a 1989-90 Hoops Marc Iavaroni and a 1988 Topps Mario Lemieux - that have blank backs, the Iavaroni back is white, the Lemieux is cardboard-colored. Where do cards like this come from and do they have any value? They are marked for sale (by a dealer back in 1989) as "Scarce" and he wanted $10-$20 apiece for them, although if they had sold I wouldn't have them now.
This is for you @thisistheshow - Jim Rice was actually a pretty good player.

Blank back cards are caused either by a basic printer's error (printing only one side of the sheet) or by someone swiping a one-side-printed sheet and having it cut. They are sometimes found in packs.
Blank front cards are normally due to one-side printed sheets being taken away and cut, although some legitimate ones have surfaced in packs - most likely due to two sheets being stuck together during the printing process, such that the front of the upper and back of the lower are printed.

They are worth whatever someone wants to pay for them.
