Should I play with him awhile

On Sept 4, I bought a coin on ebay. I sent it back the next week. My first 4 emails were ignored. After that the guy claimed for 3 weeks he never got it and I had to get a signed copy from the post office.
I've called him 4 times and he finally said he'd refund my money but I had to pay the paypal fees and shipping both ways. At one point I thought I was out 3 hundred bucks. It took another call today to finally get my paypal funds. Here's the good part...........he paid me twice.
I'm not gonna keep his money but I have to admit, I think I'm gonna have a little fun playing the same "dumb" game for awhile.

Doing the right thing felt good. I recommend that you not mess with the fella. Send the money back asap and move on to the next E-bay adventure!

I see I'm out voted by a considerable margin.................
In the middle of July I purchased a $10 silver certificate, after a few weeks the new user finally shipped it to me. Upon recieving it it was clear as day that it wasn't uncirculated as stated in the auction, it was wrinkly.. bad. Like someone took and soaked it and then laid it out to dry. Anyway I e-mail her saying that it wasnt uncirculated and I would be sending it back for a refund. She said that would be fine and I sent it on it's way. After a couple weeks, nothing. So I attempted to call them.... probably 100+ times over the next month. Never once did I get an answer. No reply to the numerous e-mails either. And because I paid with a money order I'm basically f**ked out of a hundred and some odd dollars. Needless to say I only bid on auctions that accept paypal and the user appears legit. Not that this user doesn't appear legit, save for my negative, she sold several other notes that same day all of which she recieved positive feedback on, except ofcourse mine. I left a negative September something and she hasn't done any business since those notes. I made the money back selling some of the other notes that were up to par, but for some reason she decided to stiff me on that $10.
My daughter was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 2 (2003). My son was diagnosed with Type 1 when he was 17 on December 31, 2009. We were stunned that another child of ours had been diagnosed. Please, if you don't have a favorite charity, consider giving to the JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation)

<< <i>I'd cheerfully & promptly refund his overpayment. BUTT.....Instead of clicking the "refund" button, just use the "send money" button instead. that way he has to pay the fees on it. heehe >>
lol good idea
Tough one! I would send him an email and explain the double payment and then ask him how you would like to proceed. I would then give him a lecture on civil behavior, common courtesy and just plain ole good manners. He sounds like a turd to me, but it is his money. If he doesn't respond in mature manner, then I would make him beg for an email or two.

coynclecter's seller created the bad karmic energy to start with and coynclecter is channeling the same silly disrespect back at the seller that created the bad karmic energy in the first place.
The seller is getting his whole coin back so coynclecter should get his whole amount paid for the coin back. The seller shouldn't get to keep the 2.9% because he never had it in the first place. PayPal had it and PayPal gives it back to coynclecter and the seller is out nothing as far as Paypal goes. Seller gets his FVF fees back from eBay, & relists for free.
Since the seller charged more postage than it actually costs to mail the coin, coynclecter still loses, twice, and the greedy sleazeBay PowerScrewer still makes profit of a voided deal.
What comes around goes around.

<< <i>I would wait till he noticed and reap the reward of the interest earned......then eff with him and then send him $1 a day via paypal until you sent it all back. >>
ABSOLUTELY!!!

you never mentioned WHY you returned the coin - that would make a difference on whether or not to keep out the fees that he would not reimburse you for. Just tell him 'two can play', and of course - eventually return the overpayment minus any expenses incurred. Really no sense in giving any money to Paypal.

Coynclecter already made it abundantly clear that he intends to send the money back. It's just a question of giving the seller a taste of his own medicine first.
