How many of you have seen a Liberty Dollar?

I didn't know it existed until tonight. Its appearently been in production for the last five years by a private organization that backs it with gold and silver. Has anyone gotten one, spent one or know of a place that accepts it?

For that matter. . .do they issue mint and proof sets image

    Seen 'em.

Never had one. They're popular among the anti-Federal Reserve crowd.

Apparently they issued them is different years. This one is dated 2003.
Face value is $10. They sell them for that or a small discount. Attempt to line up merchants to accept them for face value. The phone # on it is 888-421-6181 Norfed.org
    Sorry for the poor images.

    Exactly!
I got a roll when silver was about $6.35.

  • looks like a grammarian had a different take on the passive voiced phrase that adorns U.S. legal tender ...sounds a little harsh, no?

If they are in fact .999 silver then they're at spot and maybe discounted from that.

At least they're not claiming they're minted from "recovered" product like the ultra lowlifes of the "freedom dollar" are claiming.
