Suggestions: How would you accumulate...

How would you go about accumulating a "roll" of a certain type coin?

I've considered purchasing some slabbed (only the big three: ANACS-NGC-PCGS) coins that, while not extremely rare, would be considered better dates that don't show up in every dealers' inventory. The coin really doesn't matter, could be any of the following or many others for example:

Peace Dollars (1927-1935);
1932-D or S Washington Quarters;
better date commems: Pan-Pac, Hawaii, Missouri.

So suppose you wanted a "roll" of untoned 1927-D Peace dollars slabbed in 63, how would you go about putting together your roll? Personally pick them out at shows? Hire a dealer or dealers to work on it for you? Wait for them to show up on EBay/Yahoo/auctions? How would you do it?

    The key word is "accumulate" alot of accumulations of coins are just that...thrown together coins with low eye appeal. Be very selective in the look of the coins that you buy, even though you are trying to put together a roll of 20 or 40 coins. It will take alot longer but you will be happy with the results in the long run. image

    I would use ebay, coin shows and a trusted dealer to find these coins.
