The seller probably got tired of cracking this one out and trying to get it to grade at MS60. Maybe some dealer will grab it and get it into a MS61 holder - then it will really be a good deal!
It's been posted before. The seller has been trying to unload it for a while, now. I honestly don't understand why someone would submit something like that. Even on a free submission, I don't think I'd do it in that condition.
I wonder if sometimes these come from an estate, like it was a set thing that every coin in the state was to be submitted as to insure it'll be sold for the correct amount.
Perhaps these pennies are die varieties, like "BIE" errors or something similar, and someone knowledgeable slabbed them. Probably not, but there has to be a reason for submitting them.
I have a whole pile of them that aren't even slabbed that look better than that......
My son did an interesting wall plaque that I will have to post when he gets finished. It starts with a VERY faint '46 s and goes to a very strong '46 s over 15 coins. ALL of them are in better colour than the slabbed one.
This is a very dumb ass thread. - Laura Sperber - Tuesday January 09, 2007 11:16 AM
