HOOOOOOEY...this is a big can of worms...but let's let them out and see where they go.
I'll start by saying that the Registry does allow collectors to show the fruits of their efforts as never was available before...of course this tends to fuel the competitive nature of some which starts the road-race for coins. It also allows the "scholarly" collector see where some of the finest coins are...to validate that they DO exist.
It allows us to see some of the retired all-time great sets of Elaisberg and others...a standard we love to mark from. I for one enjoy seeing completed sets...it reminds me of the commitment that some collectors have and the passion that it takes to really hone down a top set. Inspiring, yep!
