Interesting observation on coin wear: MUCH smaller rolls from more heavily circulated coins!

I am gathering up my grandfather's "hoard" of silver washingtons he collected from circulation after the clad coinage act of 65. The rolls from 63 are a HALF INCH longer than the ones made up of coins from the thirties and forties! I couldn't believe there was so much of a difference in wear! Now I really understand it when people say that old silver rolls should be discounted!

Crazy huh?

Have you ever seen a roll of dateless standing liberty quarters ? Holy moley !! It's 60 % the length of a roll of '63s or '64s.....

Neat! I knew circulation looses metal, but to SEE it is something else! image
