Different grading system used by ANR for Pevehouse auction?

LongacreLongacre Posts: 16,717 ✭✭✭
While looking at the ANR catalog yesterday of the Pevehouse collection, I noticed that it said that uncertified coins were graded using the "ERC" (or something like that; I don't have it in front of me now) system, which is more conservative than market grading. Does anyone know what this is? I am sure that since it is used by ANR (which is a classy outfit), that it is completely legitimate, but I was curious if anyone knew anything about this. Thanks.

It probably said "EAC" - the club for early copper collectors.

New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.

Kranky got it right- EAC Grading.
It applies only to raw half cents and large cents in the catalogue. John Kraljevich (pistareen, here) could explain better but he's at the sale right now!
