"Sweet" addition to your set! Russ takes great pictures doesn't he? His pictures help sell his items at good prices. Good prices for him that is. Ha, Ha. Lee

You can't trust that Russ worth a damn!! He showed us how to take deceptive pics of ugly coins. Made a scratched to hell brilliant proof Kennedy look like the deepest DCAM you ever saw. I wouldn't buy anything from that rat bastage. image

I was wondering if it was going to find it's way in to THE type set. Very cool. image It's a strong coin for the grade, so feel free to bump that up when you crack it out.

On a related note, while I was sorry to see them go, the sale of my Two Cent Pieces helps to confirm the adage that if you buy nice coins you'll usually do okay. Overall, they actually brought a profit above what they cost me over the last couple years. Not any kind of "you suck" profit, but it's nice to be able to enjoy the hobby and make a little money at selling time. image

The coin arrived today! Super fast shipping and indeed, a very nice coin. Thanks again Russ!

I'm at work now but will post some pics tonight, the obverse is a nice deep red-brown like cherrywood, the reverse has a sort of woodgrain effect, with a rich golden periphery and darker brownish centers. I agree that it's strong for the grade, in fact, it's soon to be a raw MS63 image

Way to go Baley. Both you and Russ know nice looking original coins. I'm sure you are happy and it does make a great upgrade to your type set. What are you going to do with the othe AU two cent peice in the Dansco? Congrats.

What are you going to do with the othe AU two cent piece in the Dansco?

I have a Whitman 2-volume type set (my "B" set) that receives coins that were bumped out of the Dansco.

    image

    image

Coins that get bumped from the Whitman get either sold off or given away.

Reminds me, 5000 post giveaway is coming up pretty soon here! image

Nice early type coins! The GMM 1796 quarter and half in the "B" set stand out like a sore thumb... image

LoL! yeah, and the 1796 GMM dime, too. The dime is getting some nice toning about the rims image

Just place holders until I can locate (and afford) some nice AG/Good pieces for those holes.... tough coins!

Will take more pics of these coins in their new homes next week

Hey Baley. I'm making good progress on my Dansco. Just picked up my second LS Dollar in the Heritage auction last night. Awaiting delivery of a few other coins, and pretty much done except for a LS (arrows) half dime and 2 LS quarters (motto and no motto). Still haven't gotten any commems, and not sure if I'm going to fill those holes, as commems never did it for me. I'll try to take some pics of the finished sections next week and we can have a battle of the Danscos image
