Here's a really pretty and original looking 1883-S Morgan Dollar in NGC AU-55 which I purchased from Bowers & Merena in January of this year, but did not get around to photographing until yesterday. It's in one of the old "fat" keyless NGC holders which may help to account for the nice toning.
I put it down and walked away for about 30 minutes (while they held it for me), and decided to go back and purchase it because it was such a pretty coin...

Unless I'm missing something in the pictures why did it take you 30 minutes......
Nice coin !!

As it turns out, I recently also picked up this PCGS AU-58, which appears to be virtually mint state 62 or 63, so I guess that i just buy coins that I like, when I feel that they have high eye appeal -- even if they are duplicates or triplicates

I had to settle for this one instead.
Nice looking Morgans, Stuart.

wam98, keep your eye out. Every once in a while you will see a nice AU58 come up that looks really nice, and they aren't that expensive compared to mint state examples.
Eric: Your 1883-S Morgan (pictured earlier in this thread) is a very pretty original coin. Do you think that it's an AU-58, or is it perhaps a shot mint state 62??
