Lakeland Collect-O-Rama Show Report - *PICTURES ADDED*

Got there about 10:15 this morning, got 2 hours in on the floor... decent sized show, but floor traffic was quite light... heard more than one dealer say the show was going very slow for them, and I wouldn't be surprised if the show is completely dead tomorrow...

As for what I bought... I didn't have too much money, so I went Proof Set Hunting!! image I bought a '69 set with a Half that should go DCAM/UCAM image I also bought 3 '64 sets, all of them with AH Kennedies... One set has a Pointed 9 that I think will DCAM/UCAM... so that'll probally get sent in! image Also bought a '63 Proof Set that has a Roosy that has some nicee redish/goldish/yellowish color to it... and the Cent is interesting too... it's almost like a dark purplish/redish/pinkish color... image Pictures will be forth coming as soon as I get around to it image

    Hi George. I'm surprised there are so few coin buyers. I wonder if the hurricanes have but a damper on coin buying. Florida has that huge 2% deductable for house insurance. People are spending money to repair their homes. That may stop coin buying in your area for now.

    Here we go... the pictures!! First, the 3 AH Kennedys... I shot these pics just with the light reflecting right back at the camera in the mirrors... none have really any contrast, so, unless they would grade numerically high, they are not worth submitting... image

    And Here's the '64 Pointed 9 Roosy... I think it will UCAM, it's also heading to Marty for NCS and NGC image Oh, and that is not a milkspot on IGWT image I think I have something on the lens... image Oh, also, this pic was taken through the cello, so it doesn't show the contrast as well as it will when out of the cello image

    The 69 Kennedy looks to be the UVC-150 DMR-2 DDO-001. Make sure they check it out at NGC for that!

    I would like to get in on that kind of thing sometime too, that way I could collect the coins I want. Make a little extra cash money. Nice looking pieces, but I don't know about the roosie proof being worth slabbing. But I would give the Kennedy's a try, they look really good.image

    I really like the first AH. Good pics, and good eye. The 69 looks like a solid cam shot dcam based only on the pics. The reverse looks dcam, the obverse looks slightly too silver (as opposed to white), but it's a worthy submission. Good luck, and post results. image

    Without the FS# NGC won't designate it.
    It is not exactly cheating, I prefer to consider it creative problem solving!!!
