PSA 8's and 9's for Johnny Bench set builders

Selling some of my graded Benches for 70% of SMR. If there's no SMR listing, we'll negotiate a price. Please email here.

Also, a 1977 Topps Cloth Sticker PSA 9 is going up on eBay soon, unless someone offers me $45 first. This one is discounted only a little because it rarely comes up for sale in Mint.

Don't worry, Lee, Ryan, fellow registry members ... these aren't part of my sets and I'm not going anywhere!

Editing to delete cards as they are sold. Thanks to those who have bought, and even those who offered trades I couldn't accept.

  • hey john,

congrats on the move up to #2 on the bench basic registry !!

and the #1 spot is well within reach, just another card or two.

john, did`nt you request to have the 71 milk duds bench added to the master set ??

Lee, I held off on the '71 hand-cut Milk Duds because I subsequently acquired a complete flattened box (with no chocolate stains!) which I have not yet submitted for grading. The only two boxes graded are a Perez PSA 4 and a Cepeda PSA 5, actually 6 and 7 with stain qualifiers I would guess. I think my stain-free Bench box should do much better, maybe even 8, but I'm not a good judge of this issue.

As for my hand-cut Milk Duds, it's PSA 5 (st) with a chocolate mark on the reverse, as you know well. It's the only Bench graded, and I would have asked BJ to add it to the set by now if I hadn't found the box. Now to persuade her that '71 Milk Duds cards of any variety should have a pretty hefty weight.

Thanks on the #2 basic, and yes I hope to sit on the throne, if only for a little while. Some consolation for never being able to catch you in the master set. Oh wait ... look at the gem mint '70 and '73 candy lids I found in a drawer!

Sorry, rw2win, these are the only extras I have right now that are of high grade and already slabbed. About a dozen have been sold in the last week or so and I've added a few new ones. I have lots more raw Benches, every year from 1968-84. But they either wouldn't grade high enough to add to my registry or, even if I did grade them, they wouldn't sell for enough to justify the fee.

Tell you what, though, I just sent in a '74 Deckle Edge to PSA that will be offered to my fellow Benchlings if it's a decent grade.
