    Hey Bill,

The coin actually has more luster than the photos show. Whoever wins that coin will get a beautiful coin.

    hey Mark

yes indeedy it does...I have a heck of a time tring to capture coins for ebay. I dont have the normal digital camera, im using a sony dcrdvd300, which is actually made for making dvd movies direct to dvd. I have an HP digital cam, but it doesnt do closeups. The sony has a remote so I can take outside and get wild closeups weather permitting, but its a devil to figure out. Once in a while I get a real good pic though image

    The 1942-D/D is a b*tch.

PCGS has graded only 27 coins in all grades including FS, of which just 8 are Mint State.

As for value, the MS coins are also a b*tch. The last one I'm aware of having sold was a PCGS-63FS in a Heritage Signature auction this June. It went for $12,075 including commission.
    When in doubt, don't.

Only 27 in all grades? Wow, I would think all 27 would be in registry sets by now. So this coin will cost an arm and a leg.image

Cherry picked one yesterday (XF) $2.00 from a local dealer's junk box. First time ever in about 2 years looking for one.

I can honestly say my anacs one cost me 1 arm and one legg. This one has a reserve under 900, but depending on who is the top bidder and reserve isnt met, I may just sell anyway. I made one xf40 a few years back I got from airplanenut, which is out there somewhere now, its changed a few boardmembers hands. I actually had this AU55 in a few boardmembers hands also.

believe me the coin is a big btch ta find and make in any grade, and the real pop is in the 24-25 range, as I know of a few crackouts image

    shame on you guys

I'm not anything. I'm like most people around here. We get sick and tired of having the SOS said time and time again. It's like anything. It mild have been mildly amusing at first but it has quickly become annoying.

    Hiya Katrina

Now you know what I ment by dealing with ebayers...Bids were made, second chance offers ignored till they were taken off the table.

maybe I should sell insurence instead of coinsimage

  • You had 2cd chance offers?
  • image The reserve was met!!! image

BTW, "It's Bill's coin and it is HIS to list and do with as he pleases."

Would that also include trying to sell it on the US Coin Forum too? imageimage

only thing I can figure is that Rbtex must really want this D/D BAD!!!!!!!

    is he the high bidder?????

  • RBinTexRBinTex Posts: 4,328
"...when did I try and do that?..."

No one EVER said you did. Just responding to the "he can do whatever he pleases" (to paraphrase) comment. image

BTW, watch out for the current HIGH BIDDER . Never left feedback for anyone. image Never got feedback from a buyer (only uses this ID to buy) image Only 94.4% positive feedback. Last eBay transaction w/feedback about 3 months ago image Only bids on YOUR STUFF last 30 days imageimageimage

& oh, did I mention, he magically hit your reserve on the FIRST TRY imageimageimageimage
