Home Buy, Sell, & Trade - U.S. Coins

IGNORE:How much extra would YOU pay to move up in line, priority-wise, in order to be offered neat n

It is a cold, hard, understandable, general fact of life, that whether you are a collector OR dealer, the easier you are to deal with and the more you'll pay, the higher you rank on sellers' offering lists.

If you pass on coins or are only willing to pay X and someone else comes along and buys them and/or is willing to pay more, that person will usually end up getting priority over you in the future. Ditto, if you're overly choosy - this is not a criticism of those who are especially discriminating, just a reality. Those who become known as easy sells are clearly favored over those who are tough sells.

So, the question is, are you willing to pay more (and if so, how much more) for coins than you otherwise would, in order to establish a reputation for being easy to deal with, to move up on sellers' lists and get shots at coins you wouldn't otherwise be offered?

This is a dilemma that I, my clients and just about anyone I know, face over and over again, and I'd like to hear your thoughts on this subject. Thanks in advance.
