Wow! I bid it up from $22.00 to $36.81 and I'm still outbid-I think I'll sit back and watch this one. Evidentally ship lovers do love their ships.

Any comments from forum members as to how much it's realistically worth?

    Coinaddict, thanks for showing this.image

  • I thought it was a George Noble when i read the title... pity it's not, but it does look like this medal has its design drawn heavily from the extremely rare and gorgeous George Noble of Henry VIII.

Ever seen a picture of a George Noble? (You want to!)
  • Very cool and unusual design, thanks for posting it, CoinAddict! image

First one I've seen like that myself, but I don't hunt for jettons specifically. If it weren't for the unfortunate cudding, I'd bid it up rather more than the $60 it's at now. Even as it is, I'd not be surprised to see it go for well over $100 and perhaps twice that. That's incredible workmanship for the period!!

I though it was going to be a Hampshire 79 or 80.

I'd have to scan an image in, possibly B&W cos i don't think there are any pictures of one on the internet.

You are right!! I searched about 4 hours over 2 days and found nada. Zip. Zero.

Lots of mention of it, no pics.

    Now I'm really curious!!
