How many are out there? I've seen 5c and 1c with supposed rare new discovery coins.....How many are out there?? I have not been impressed with what I have seen. Anyone else have some input? Chris

Nothing to write home about and I have only heard of the cent and nickel DD's. I think the cent is a big deal because of the single sqeeze hubbing. I won't invest much money in either.

    Best Regards,

    Jeff
  • Just finished reading an article in the new (October 18) Coin World on these coins. No mention is made of an exact count on either the 5c or the 1c but the author did state that "Several examples of the variety have since been reported". "Since" being since the discovery coin.

Edited to add: There's an informative thread over in the open forum dealing with how many are in a "bunch". Maybe they can quantify "several" for ya.

I believe a thread spoke about the 2004 DDO/DDR Lincoln a few days ago. From what I recall the original coins will bring big bucks because of the novelty but multiple thousands are predicted to have been produced. Thus I hope all you smart CU board readers will be spared the urge to buy the first ones discovered because they will be very common in the end. I wish Coppercoins would chime in here. The Moral of the story....fill in the blanks. Chris
