I know there are all kinds of threads on the subject but I didn,t bother to read them because I never thought I'd need the info, but how do you send a Registered Mail worth more than $25,000 to PCGS?
Is hand delivery recommended and if so, where do you take them?

That's as an individual collector, not as a business person. Now, if this is part of the hoard you are dealing with, I would still do that. Safer, feel better about it, etc. Small price to pay for peace of mind and especially since the coin's value is mostly pure profit for the owner.
Also, take some more down with you at the same time and it is even more worth it
I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.

I would agree that registered mail is secure but what is the limit?
Also, it takes a bit of time and if that were the case, for a coin that value, why not just go there and spend less than $1000 and have a small vacation?
Like I said, if this is a personal thing, that would be ideal. Take a coin worth >$25,000 (and some other coins), drop them off at PCGS, go back to the beach/hotel, enjoy California for a few days, head home (unless you paid for expedited service, and, for a coin that value, it would be worth it), and receive the coins.
Sounds cool to me

in light of the posts about fingerprints etc. I guess I would have it properly photographed prior to grading IMHO. Just my .02

Seriously, if it is going to get a print on it it will do it whether or not you have a photo.

It would be nice to have proof in order to hold someone's feet to the fire if it had to be conserved due to a print.

Yes, that observation is true. Clutching an 8x10 glossy will not stop someone in another state from putting a fingerprint on a coin.

That is, obviously, what I meant.

Not really. They managed to loose, *ahem*, STEAL a registered package that I sent to PCGS worth $1,800. They paid off on the
insurance after a 30 day wait of course and that was it. I called the Postal Inspectors myself to get an investigation going. They
took the info & I never heard anything again.

Do they have discounted hotel rates for 45 day stays?
I'm assuming one would get some kind of express service that one would pay accordingly for, with a 25K or more item.
Otherwise, hrh might consider building a hotel California on the beach (this could be heaven or it could be hell) for hand delivering clients to camp out at. Bring your SPF 45 sunblock. It's mai tai time.
