1895S Morgan---Ay Vey!!!!

image My Angels get routed (at least it was a game through eight) and this 95S pops up which I have been
tracking. The next time I stumble upon an estate sale where dad dies I will donate an emesis bag to seller. Anyway the bereaving son
who I'm sure is still mourning lists this beauty for sale as a 64. Of course since he knows nothing about numismatics and
it's poor dads estate, all sales are final. If this coin is a 58 it must be my lucky day. As a relative newby I know
not to buy raw unless it's the Red Cross selling a coin. Comments appreciated.

    This coin is no better than an AU55, and it's hard to tell if it has been cleaned.

    I share your pain over the Angels. It's going to take a miracle to pull this one out. I guess it is better this way than what happened in 86.

    The Red Sox are the class of the AL. We had to win this game and I think, miracles or the curse of the Babe, better luck
    next year for us. Still it's been a great year for us and I have enjoyed it and with the new ownership we have nothing
    but a bright future ahead.

    Boy, that's one pretty looking 55 95S. With clever photography skills you could sell that as a 67 on scumbay.

    Thanks, that is a pretty 95-S. It's in an old green label holder, and I wouldn't be surprised to see it in a 58 holder some day, though I won't be the one playing the crackout game with it.

    I don't really mind seeing the Red Sox go on, or Minnesota for that matter. Anyone but the Yankees. If the Angels end up going down in this series, it still was a good year, especially the last couple weeks of the season. I bought the full video of the clincher against Oakland last Saturday, and will be able to replay Zito pouting in the Oakland dugout over and over again in the off season.

    A couple of things to note about purchasing the video - I'm on a 1500k connection and it takes about 45 minutes to download (470mb). Also, they use Microsoft's digital protection and licensing system, so it takes about a day to acquire the license before you can view the video. Once you acquire the license, you're good to go.

    Come on all you Angels doubters.....thats why it's a best of 5 series...and take it from one who knows about 'anything can happen'...a Yanks fan, or according to the locals, a fan of 'The Evil Empire' (no joke, thats what they call the Yanks around here) living amongst the most gullible of all fans in the world...Red Sox fans...if ANY team can find a way to lose in grand style, its the Red Sox...the KINGS of 'Oh no, not again'....also, the Red Sox the class of the AL? They are still playing catch up with the Yanks as to how to field a contender....and Pedro will look GREAT in pinstripes next year.....and if the Angels do succumb to the Sox, how can you say that it 'was still a great year'? The only measure of a succesful season is by what your ring says...anything less than winning it all STILL makes you a loser...hell, even the loser of the World Series is STILL the best loser...2nd place? Thats for Little League. Though, if I were making $10 million or more for 6 months worth of playing a game, I guess that would take the sting out of it, but they STILL hang their heads in defeat and cry about losing....when an adult cries about losing, can they be convinced it 'was still a great year'? I think not......but then again, who CAN beat the Cardinals??? NOONE! (Not even my Yankees)

    I was born and raised in Anaheim. Heck I still can't believe the Angels won the championship. You have no idea how many bad Angel teams I have lived through. Just getting in the playoffs is good enough for me. And my favorite player is Jim Fregosi...that gives you an idea of how old a fan I am. And, and there still the California Angels as far as I'm concerned. I'm done now.

    Yes, and I've never ever seen them offer the tags with the sale. I guess they threw them away when they cracked the slab, or sent them back for the 50 cents.

    To get back on topic, what's the best affordable certified (PCGS/NGC) grade for an 1895-S Morgan? Affordable for me being no higher than $350.
