Pricing was reasonable given the condition rarity, this dime is for my personal collection and makes a nice plate coin for the web-book.

I do have a duplicate that coming for sale, definitely not as pretty but still in a high grade. Coin has AT but is a late die state example.

I wouldn't count on it. Collectors have had over 114 years to "discover" the seated series. I suspect it had more of a following 50 to 60 years ago. I think since at least the turn of the century collectors have focused more on the current coinage than on the older material. In the mid 1800's the focus was more on ancient coins than US. (The ANS, formed around 1858, for decades focused more on ancients and foreign coins from 1600 and earlier.) As the 20th century continued interest remained on current coins, with collectors, as they advanced, moving back simply to the type before the current issues. Since about 1920 interest in the 19th century coins has been pretty much restricted to a relatively small number of specialists.

Thanks Ray....up to this point I had not seen one finer

Finally, we can clearly see the condition of the dies for this variety, there are a number of LDS die cracks on the reverse.

<< <i>Great coin! Congrats. The O Mints are so unbelievably rare and grossly UNDERvalued in MS. >>

Generally true, except for 40-O and 41-O quarters which are well known hoard coins. And of course the 59-O and 60-O Treasury Hoard dollars which come Unc but baggy as all getout.

What are other N.O. seated coins are common in Unc?
