A few coins I would like to share

The 1948 Franklin that I bid on arrived Friday and I am just now getting around to getting some pics of it. It is a beautiful coin that has a lot more beautiful toning then my pics show. Here it is.image

I received this 1958 from Frank today as a gift for doing well on a report card. It is a great coin with beautiful blue mint set toning and has alot more color then the pics show. Please feel free to guess the grade on the 1958. Thanks again for the great coin, Frank.image

They are OK I guess. This was the last half dollar that freely circulated. They put JFKs picture on there and then it went all downhill image

I used to think that way also- I can't remember how many I sold in BU rolls to be melted in the early 80'simage. It took me a while to see these as collectable coins but now that I have I think of them in the last frontier sort of way- the last of the large silver coins with many treasures waiting to be found and they are out there. Sort of the same rush as getting classic coin to certify in the mid 80's. mike image

it seems like there might be some chatter in the left obverse field, however it sure looks gem in my eyes....

      nice coin...

the 58 Frankie looks GEM also and just might be a six holder coin.......

Frankies can get away with a few more hits then most coins with PCGs due to the big open areas that invite a bagmark....

However, most coins in a six holder should have some strong luster with nice eye appeal....

    • The 1948 is graded MS-64 FBL. There is no major chatter on the obverse but on the reverse there are a few hairline scratches that are what kept it out of a 65 holder.

The 1958 is a Gem like Lucy said. It is graded MS-65.image

Very nice. The '58 is under rated in this kind of condition.

Nice coins kid. Poor kid, FC57 coins has given him a few coins and got him hooked like the "Pusher" man. Frank is the one you will see at shows in the middle of the summer wearing an over-coat.image

Laura, this kind of post is exactly why some of your more interesting points get drowned out, even when you make excellent points. I'm no big Franklin fan either, but I don't pop up in Franklin threads and trash them.

The last time I looked, Franklin halves were US coins and people have the right to post and share the coins they like with others who also enjoy them.
    • Sweet coins! Nice job.
