"Most of the letters in the large letter reverse such as A's and M will measure slightly more than 2mm. in height, some as much as 2 1/4 mm. The M in AMERICA will measure slightly over 3 mm. wide at the base. Only one 1832 reverse die is attributed as LARGE LETTERS..." -A.C. Overton

Looks like from here....get your mm ruler out.
  • If I had the Overton book.... I might be able to tell you image

Just because I'm old doesn't mean I don't love to look at a pretty bust.

The "Large Letters" variety has a huge die gouge under the eagle's right wing (coin's left side) by which it is usually recognized.
  • Thanks to everyone for the information. Greatly appreciated.

once you've seen a large-letters reverse, you'll never get 'em confused again.
