Anyone know how to make em work like before?
It brings up IE instead of just the picture. What am I doing wrong?
link that brings up IE
Now if I use the IMAGE icon at the top, it works like it used to.
??????????????????

If you are looking at the image on your hard drive and it opens a new IE
browser window, XP has set IE to be your default jpeg viewer.
But .....shoot....... NOW..... I don't know how it displayed links before. I know all links from ...other...sites weere in IE frame and maybe they were here too.
Brain overload.
But overall, .......so far....... I like the SP2. Love watching the popups not pop up.
if I have the brains to figure out how it used to be. I just recently started using links on here instead of images to speed the system for dial ups.
But can't remember how it .......was.
duhh.
Runs same as before.
IE now has a feature where popups are blocked, which is pretty cool. Although the PCGS popup ads are blocked too.
But no popups is fine with me.
As for pictures, usually your favorite picture viewing program has a option that lets it be the default viewer.
After installing XP sp2 it set something else as the default viewer. You just have to set it back.
<< <i>IE now has a feature where popups are blocked, which is pretty cool. Although the PCGS popup ads are blocked too. >>
Click on the tools menu, pop up blocker, then settings. You can enter "trusted" sites to allow popups from those sites.
Here I've been MONTHS with the message that all updates are up to date.
The REST of the story is that Spybot stopped supporting the old version so I downloaded the NEW version and removed 22 spyware programs.
Duhh squared.
Well i did add www.pcgs.com to the list of trusted sites, but it still doesn't popup the pcgs ad window.
there must be another URL for it.
i use mozilla firefox as my web browser. no problems there either.

You need to enter the full URL:
http://www.pcgs.com
Keep in mind the popups do not happen on every visit, they are random.
Topstuf your link works for me just like all the other links always have.
<< <i>Any link posted by Braddick always opens for me in the same window that I am reading the forum in. >>
It's not because Braddick posted it, it's because he uses the URL for the link AND for the "text" associated with the link.
New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.
So I removed it again.
In case you're a fellow messenger hater, this is how it's done.
.....................
Start/Run and enter the command:
RunDLL32 advpack.dll, LaunchINFSection %windir%INFmsmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove
.........................................................
You can simply copy that line and paste it in the "Run" window. Messenger will be kaput!
<< <i>I've been running XP with SP1 and for me the firt time I would click on a link it would open it in a new window. If I left that window open any further links I clicked would open in that other window not another new one unless Braddick posted the link. Any link posted by Braddick always opens for me in the same window that I am reading the forum in. I find that very annoying since I can't read comments or reply and also refer back to the image at the same time.

There is a very simple trick to open a link in a new window. Hold down the shift key and then click on the link.
<< <i>I put XP Sp2 on my PC, no problems. >>
Well, I put it on one of my computers and it killed it - (won't boot at all)

But can't think of what to do if it won't even boot.

The links aready open in another winow on their own. Except Braddick's.
And I sometimes use the URL for both the link and the text when I post one. It still opens it in the new window not the current one.
<< <i>I d/l sp2 for xp, and it slowed my system down bad, i had to dump it, once dumped, it ran just fine? Dunno, some kind of a glitch? >>
Ditto here, plus a couple other inconveniences that are driving me nuts.
Why step over the dollar to get to the cent? Because it's a 55DDO.
