Help with early copper

This bust cent has major corrison and was wondering if it was worth it to buy it at such a low price and what I could do to fix it up. bust cent

  • The auction just closed a few minutes ago. I hope that you did not win it, as it was not a good deal at $19. There's nothing that can be done to remove verdigris on copper, short of mechanical alteration. You can get a lot more coin if you can reach to the $40 level. jmho.

    While I agree with what JRC said, here's a trick I use on dug copper.

    However, my method does require some "mechanical" alteration, as he mentioned, and is really only a last resort for the really crusty stuff.

    You could definitely do better than the one in the link.
