Thanks all for your help. The seller confirmend everything is OK!!!

Tom

Hi all,
Below is a coin transaction from Ebay using Paypal. The seller said I overpaid (free shipping) by $2.50 and he refunded the
money(line 3 & 4)(The hold on line 4 is for 3-4 days transfer).

Line (2) is my payment to him. But on line (1) it shows under staus ...refunded..... Does that mean he refunded the $25.40 also?

I'm confused by this one and any help would be great.

Thanks
Tom

Everything looks A-OK to me. He refunded $2.50 of your money. (very good seller btw)image

I don't think there's a problem -- it looks like you're just going to get that $2.50 back once the hold on the funds is past.

After hearing about one eBay ripoff after another on these boards, it's good to hear a story about one of the good guys who would voluntarily do something as small, and yet so indicative of integrity, as sending a $2.50 refund on excess shipping charges.
  • Paypal had withdrawn the money from your bank. Even though it showed completed, it won't until 3-4 business days. So when he refunded your shipping, it was part of the amount withdrawn from your bank and therefore subject to 3-4 days hold.
They assume that your bank might reject the charge and they don't want to lose the withdrawn fund and the shipping funds which means at the end of the day, if something goes wrong they lose the shipping funds from their own money.

    HTH.

I had a similar situation recently. Last week I accidentally shipped a low-value item without the postal insurance the bidder had paid for. Once I realized, I immediately apologized and refunded the $1.30.
