Coin dealer questions

Is it just my local dealers, or is this a standard hobby wide?.....
Everytime that I have anything to sell, I always get the "questions"...sometimes in a roundabout way, but always the same; How long have you had that?...How much did you pay for that?, etc..

Don't these people realize how weasely they sound? I don't mind selling things occasionally at a bit less than I could get if I sold it myself through other channels...after all, the guys have overhead and are trying to make a living, but the pricing of a coin should be based on the coin itself. It gets a little sickening to see the dollar signs spinning in the dealers eyes like the reels of a one armed bandit if you tell him that you inherited the coin that you want to sell him. Are there dealers around that actually enjoy the hobby, or are most of them buying outlets for larger wholesalers?

I've sold many, many coins to dealers; almost always, you agree on a price, and the sale is made without any of the issues you've mentioned.
