Profiles in Variety the Kennedy half dollar part II

Here is the next installment of varieties for the Kennedy half dollar. All material referenced from The Kennedy Half Dollar Book by James Wiles.

1964 (PROOF) UVC-2, DMR-2

DESIGNATION: ODV-002, MDO-002, MD-2-O-II-C, RDV-001, MDR-001, MD-1-R-II-C

URS: 17

MARKER: normal hair, straight G

CROSS REFERENCE: CML MD-1-O-II, CML 2-R-II, 3-R-II

Obverse: This is the second obverse design that eliminated the accented hairline and strenthens the Iof LIBERTY. This die is also master die doubled with a light spread on WE TRUST, 64 of date, TY of LIBERTY, and the hair under the R of LIBERTY. The strengh of doubling will depend on hub and die state.
Reverse: A small percentage of the RDV-001 reverses were paired with the new obverse design. These are known as transitional varieties.

1964 (PROOF) UVC-3, DMR-3

DESIGNATION: ODV-002, MDO-002, MD-2-O-II-C, RDV-002, MDR-002, MD-2-II-C (3)

URS: 22

MARKER: normal hair, flared G

CROSS REFERENCE: CML MD-1-O-II, CML MD-1-R-II

Obverse: This variety pairs the second obverse design with the second reverse design.
Reverse: This design has continuous rays, even through the stars and sports a flared G in the initials. This die is master die doubled with a light spread on UNITED, HALF and the stars around the rim CW from K-6 to K-9. Close tripling can be seen on the HA of HALF. Strength of doubling will vary depending on hub adn die state.
