What I think is pathetic is they mention in the beginning of the story about hurricane jeane and francis which weren't much of anything in comparison to Charlie.

Well, the more recent ones are in memory... Of course, I'd love to be finding some treasure myself. But don't see that happening.

That's because Jeane and Francis came in on the east coast which was the side the 1715 fleet was on. Charlie came in on the west coast of the state where there would be much less possibility of treasure washing ashore.
