Scotsman auction befuddlement UPDATED 10-4

I ALWAYS WANTED to use the word "Befuddlement"..........

A week or so ago, the postman delivered a Scotsman auction catalog complete with prices realized from the July 6th auction.........

While checking their site, I find the auction scheduled for this coming Saturday is identical down to the lot #'s as the July auction........

I'm wondering if the site is wrong, the catalog is wrong, or if all lots failed to meet reserve and are relisted......... Hence the befuddlement....... Can anyone clarify ?????????

UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE

Today I called Scotsman on my way to work...... I was transferred to a man who identified himself as the auction director........ I asked him pretty much what I had posted here........ Turns out, there was a printers error in the catalog identifying the upcoming lots as the ones from the previous auction......... Problem solved with one phone call!!!!!!

  • No I can't. All I can tell you is their website went down for about a week before their last auction. Then it came up for about a day. Then back down. And, I got burnt on what I had consigned. I'm not hearing anything good about the Scotsman Auctions of late. I hope they can pull their socks up and get back in the running as an alternative to Heritage and Teletrade. They've been around a long time and have a good reputation, but.....Also, I got the same thing you did and threw both immediately in the trash.

    UPDATE TO YOUR UPDATE:

You must have talked to John Bush. I received a email from him today answering some of my questions also.

I have decided to AVOID in the future. They seem to be very disorganized.
  • It's not just their auctions either. They have always returned my emails and phone calls. And I mean always. Now, if I even hear back from them it's from a totally different person than the one who I directed a question to. So, I right after I saw this post tonight I added them to my forget about list. Hey it's up to five dealers! And, that's not bad.

i'm bidding on 2 of their coins based on a buddy's opinion (probably won't have a chance to see them in person).

    wish me luck!

    Karl,

If you did NOT see em - I wish you luck indeed - I have them on my DND list for awhile - totally mom and pop operation - over graded slabs - and your bids go to tyhe MAX and I mean the MAX. I learnt the hard way long ago.
