I was going to list a Trade Dollar on Ebay

I looked at the Trade Dollar auction site, and the majority of the offerings are those fake Chinese coins.
I'm not going to list a good coin on a site with nothing but garbage.
I'll sell the coin at a coin show instead.

  • Good idea..If you got the Trade$ slabbed, you might have a good chance of making some profit on e-bay, but as a raw coin, it's just a waste of time...

    Ray,

I have to agree with you. Ninety percent (or higher) of all Trade $'s listed on eBay are fakes. There are some raws but THE only way to sell on eBay is to get it slabbed. Just what the world needs is more bad fake Trade $'s. Good luck...what's the coin?

I was able to sell a genuine raw one with a hole for a fair price on ebay. I guess people figured nobody would put a hole in a fake one. But I wouldn't try to sell a decent one raw there.

It's unfortunate that eBay as become a dumping ground for fake Trade dollars. I rarely purchase any Trade dollars there anymore.

Total nearly unadulterated garbage in that section. The depths of the cesspool. When something decent comes along, I almost faint of shock.

The good news is that you can pretty much tell 90% of them because they either use the same picture or start at some stupid low number ... all the while proclaiming how genuine they are! Grrrrr.
