Gold Plated

When i first found this coin, i figured it was baked or some how AT. Just to test this i dipped part of it in a jewlery cleaner, which usually instantly removes any toning, but there was no effect. I then ran it under water for a few seconds but still no change..I am now wondering if it is gold plated. Is there any way to determine if it is plated or not? I know that i haven't found some priceless treasure..........just something to tell my classmates tomorrow......Thanks for any help and/or opinion!!!

Probably gold plated. They sell lots of the Statehood Quarters that way. I actually sell the gold-plated ones in my coin booth- get 'em for a buck each at shows, and sell 'em for $2.50. Cha-ching. People seem to like 'em.

(Nice Britannia icon, though- I made that one a few years ago.)
(Edit: second time's the charm. And yes, they DO bring a slight premium over face value, usually fetching a buck to three or four bucks, as I said, though this demand is strictly as a novelty item, and not for any numismatic reason.)
If it looks gold, chances are that's what it is, all right- gold plated.
