Did anyone else see this auction?!?!?!

WOW, there's a lot of good stuff in there to start it at $0.99. Link. Did anyone here take a stab at it? It's pretty high now, but probably still quite a deal.

  • Too many third world slabs and raws, especially on the golds. I'd be too suspicious of overgrades and counterfeits to even think about bidding.

Edited to add, there are some things in there I would bid on individually, or in smaller lots, but there are too many questions in my mind to take it all at once.

There are quite a few things in there, that are IMO worth bidding on, that all together are worth more than what it's up for now. I think this guy might be just selling off his collection.

its up to $2,575.50..........ouch, someone could get hurt
Family, kids, coins, sports (playing not watching), jet skiing, wakeboarding, Big Air....no one ever got hurt in the air....its the sudden stop that hurts. I hate Hurricane Sandy. I hate FEMA and i hate the blasted insurance companies.

Maybe someone will do alright... I wish them luck. There's a few too many horrible scrubbed Morgans in there, and a lot of other junk. Not much that's any good. Quite a number of things that are badly overgraded (a VG8 morgan marked as VF20? etc.)

  • I think, more often than not, that you will not do as good on an auction like this as you think.

I'm to lazy to come up with a rough value of the lot, but a bunch of the Morgans seem to be cleaned. The twenty dollar
gold coin looks pretty chewed up. Despite my initial impressions the combined value of the whole lot will probaby be higher
than what it sells for. The only problem from my perspective is I have no desire to sell off the coins I don't want and if
I were to spend 3-4K I would rather be much more selective about what I get and buy a real beauty. I really don't want
to acquire a truck load of coins which are worth slightly more than their melt value.
