I would like a california fractional gold piece

Does anyone have any links to sites that would give information on this topic? I want one for investment and fun reasons, they look like a lot of fun. I know I set up a topic on this a couple of days ago but only a few people responded I hope I can get more off of this one. Where would be a good place to purchase one? Im probably not allowed to get one of the net, cause of there price, but are these safe to purchase at shows? Are they counterfited often? If I like them I might start a collection of them when I get older.

  • Get them in trusted plastic (PCGS, NGC, ANACS). There are a lot of non hobby protected copies out there, so you have to be careful.

What he said. Those are a minefield for the unwary. (And I count myself as one of the unwary in that particular department.)

I've bought two, but they were cheap holeys- have no idea if they're real or not, but don't really care at the prices I paid. They're not the obvious "token" fakes, anyway.
