My Latest Wonder Ike Rainbow Score

braddickbraddick Posts: 23,965 ✭✭✭✭✭
It pays to have the handle, "peacockcoins" on eBay as every now and then someone will send me an email offering a terrific Ike. This one came from a small town outside of Salt Lake City, Utah. It's on its way, express, to PCGS:

What do you think? The colors reflect wildly against the proof surfaces. A real blazer, in hand.

That's not what I'm talking about. What I am referencing is that if I posted that coin, you would clearly say that is NOT a PKOK Hoard coin. They have very distinctive rims and colors, which these two coins don't exhibit. Now you show both coins in the "supposed" toning medium for the PKOK Hoard. C'mon Pat, what's the deal here? You know the truth about the "Hoard."

Remember "those in glass houses" statement from a couple of days ago?

Peacoock Ikes have that distinctive green/blue fields with neon orange/maroon rims. This is NOT a Peacock Ike. It was not represented that way to me nor am I doing so now. It is only my eBay handle that allows others to find me and offer these neat coins to me.

It's pretty, and I'll go dig up a PCGS Ike with the same color right now and post it in a few minutes...

I do not believe thast Pat refered to the coin as a PKOK coin, only it pays to have

the dealership name of PKOK Coins, to get nice toned IKE offered to him. Frattlaw

you are taking words out of context here and it is not appropriate.

    Pat --

Here's Cherwood's question again -- perhaps you missed it.

    Very pretty. Is that NT?

    What would your answer be?

    Michael
  • braddickbraddick Posts: 23,965 ✭✭✭✭✭
I think all three are NT. If not, I wouldn't be rushing the first one to PCGS (as stated in my first post).

Now... could today please just be a fun day? I understand if you don't like my Ikes, but why try and bring me down?

We'll see in a minute ...... (and BTW -- I actually like toned Ikes.)

So here's one last question for you .......

We all know that you've sold PKOK Ikes ......

Are the PKOK Ikes AT or NT, based on your knowledge?

Just so we all know where you are coming from Bear -- you just bought a PKOK Ike from Braddick, correct?

Absolutely. You think they are fake, I think they are pretty.

Only God himself knows the truth about them.

I'm under the impression we've both determined the Ikes shown here are pnot Peacock Ikes.

Michael, I believe you're mixing apples with oranges.

You ask me if the Ikes in this Thread are NT. I (politely) answer you. Now you sort of highjack this Thread with another AT/NT debate over Peacock Ikes. I'll tell you what. When you can gather a civil tone about you I'll happily debate the issue via PM's. In the meantime, type in PKOK here, or over at the Registry forum and you'll have about an hour's worth of reading material as this topic as been covered over and over again.

Well, PCGS certified them as market acceptable, I like them

and the price was reasonable. It is getting to the point that no one really

knows what the heck is real and what is just an excellent AT job. You may well

be right in your opinion Frat, but I takes my chances, pays my money and life

goes on.If I am wrong, it wont be the first time, or unfortunately the last time.

And now I'm asking another question since you referenced your experience in handling the PKOK Hoard in your first post.

<< <i>When you can gather a civil tone about you I'll happily debate the issue via PM's >>

There's no debate. I just wanted you answer a simple question? Why the need to do it privately in PMs? You "publicly" sell PKOK Ikes, why not have the discussion publicly? And as you may remember, I was apart of the discussion on the Registry Forum, no need for me to read it again.

That reminds me -- I wonder if the guys who play with using old Wayte Raymond albums & such to intentionally 'NT' coins are paying attention. Those little cardboard single-silver-dollar bank holders do some fantastic stuff to coins that spend time in them. I've got a superbly attractive (IMO -- not a 'monster' huge money coin but aesthetically terrific just the same) 83-O Morgan that got 'done' by one of those. Those, and those velvet pres. cases the Canadian mint used. Good offgassing over the years, I guess.

Bear, your collecting style has also served me well throughout the years.

I buy what I like. It might be a colorful Kennedy half or a FA02 1921 Peace dollar. It might even be this fantasy Ike: image

If I like it, even if I stand alone in doing so, I try to own it. I do however feel a bit sorry for my kids when they go to cash in years from now!

Braddick --Why are you avoiding my simple question?

I thought for sure after the debacle involving Adrian and TBT, you would want to clarify any rumors that the PKOK Hoard might actually be a AT hoard of Ike dollars?

Michael, there is a distinction between avoiding a question and simply choosing not to get into it (again, and again, and again).

And, on top of that, why would you suspect my opinion would, "clarify any rumors that the PKOK Hoard might actually be a(n) AT hoard of Ike dollars".

NO ones opinion has done so thus far.
