My guess is that it's the remains of a lump of silver solder from a jewlery piece and not an error coin like he suggests or there would have been more reported and publicized by now. There are no VAMs at all that remotely resemble this, and if the silver dollar society doesn't know about it, it is probably not a real error or variety.
