1952 S/S Jefferson, are these common?

I picked up a 1952 S over S Jefferson Nickel at a coin show yesterday. I tried doing a search on these and couldn't find anything. It also isn't listed on the Varietynickels.com website. Are these common?

You would have to first distinguish which of the S/S varieties you have. I don't do nickels so I cannot help you, but from my experience in cents, a simple "S/S" won't cut it. Just a for instance, in Lincolns there are over a dozen different S/S varieties, some are much more common than others. Likewise, some are much more valuable than others.

  • There are 3 reported 52-S/S varieties. 52-S is a tougher year for S-Mint RPM's and probably worth around $20 each in BU. Here are the three reported: CLICK
