I believe I own the finest collection of Voce Populi coins in the world

The only problem is that no one collects these things and no one cares.

  • I feel your pain brother........... Like the thrill of finding out you have the 6th known example of a certain coin............. and then the sinking feeling when you find out that only 3 people collect them ! image

Start posting pics. Create a market. I'm sure others might be interested in them once they had the opportunity to see how beautiful they might be. You might not get everyone to collect them, but it sure might build some interest.

Look @ Russ and the AH Kennedy or Marty and the Cook Island coins.

  • I agree with Frattlaw, start showing pics. That's how I got into cwt's someone posted some pics, and I fell in love, that might happen to a few on here. It wouldn't hurt. If you get a few, those few might get a few and so on and so forth.

    CCU,

I love them. There's one dealer on the local circuit who usually has a few nice ones and I always give them a thorough drooling when I'm at his table. If I had wads of cash to spare, it's one of the additional things I'd collect. Problem is that the really nice ones with good planchets and good color ain't cheap.

I'm curious to see what the current Ford coins are going to bring - there are some nice ones, but I was sort of expecting a whole run of gem uncs., which they aren't.

Congradulations, but I have to dissagree when you say that nobody collects them. Alot of C4 members would really dissagree. LOL
They are excellent in every way.

Most collectors appreciate rarity even when they don't collect it themselves.

I enjoy seeing those nice colonials when you post them CCU and it looks to me like Ford is selling the chaff part of his collection at the moment and not the wheat...

Not sure if I have ever seen one. Ten posts and still no pics.

No wonder they are overlooked and under appreciated.

The overwhelming majority of high end Voce Populis are not slabbed.

Pssst. Look two inches to the left. See that? Its a Voce Populi, Nelson 3 (the Redbook VOOE type). This one was from the collection of James A. Stack.

Here's a couple different types of Vox populi issues, the first with a "P" below the bust, and the other with the "P" in front of the bust. No one's exactly sure what the "P" stood for. These were made in Ireland and evidentally circulated there there in substantial numbers..
