What would this card grade

Looking for help fellas on what you think this would grade. I say a 4. What do you think? Thanks.

This what the guy says about the card. The back comment is a little confusing to me. Maybe a 5?

The back is clean but not centered as well as the front; but there is border on all 4 sides of the back. Some corner / edge wear. No creases.

Comments

  • unless there's some hidden wrinkle or back damage, I think the card looks better than vg-ex. It looks very fresh...maybe a 6 or even a 7 if there are no hidden flaws.
  • i've bought about 50 52 bowmans in the past 4 months ( working on it in 6-8 ). me thinks it looks like an easy 6 and possibly a 7. if the scan is accurate. how much is it going for ?

I'll tell you as long as you're not going to snag it from me, haha! $47 delivered is the asking price. Judging by the opinions so far sounds like a good deal.

I'd say 5 due to the upper-left corner.

If the surface is nice and clean (as opposed to mean and clean), and since it's also reasonably well centered, I'd say it's a 6. I've definately seen worse 6's.

No chance at all for a 7. Most probably a 6. Possibility of a 5.

it could possibly not grade out at all...trimmed. good luck though it appears nice
    Good for you.

BTW, if it were graded by the typical ebay seller, it would be an 8. image

You had to scare me didn't you! I guess you never know when buying raw, for $47 delivered I'm going to take a chance.

Steve is being on the safe side - but I don't believe it has been trimmed based on the size of the border and the slight rough cuts I see - the corners show the wear of a 5-6 IMO and if trimmed would definitely look better and be in a Gem Mint Pro holder.
For that kind of money - I agree, perhaps worth the chance. Is this a BIN card? Return privilege?

    Hey Mike
It's actually off of some guys personal website, not ebay. I'm doubtful he'd be willing to let me return but I guess I should ask. If I submit it and get a 5 I still got a pretty good deal for a card that doesn't seem to come up with regularity on the bay. If I get a 6 then I got a really good deal. If it comes a 4 I lose a little but that's life. I'll post what happens once it's all said and done. Thanks.

Very good point and something to consider. On the other hand, perhaps this is a seller who deals mostly raw and doesn't bother with a lot of graded. Polo Grounds has been dealing with high grade stuff in SCD for years, not to mention Kit Young.

I finally got around to submitting the card and the results were posted today:

It got a 6. Not bad for $47 plus $10 to grade it.

    Thanks for the advice fellas.
