Some really cool finds. My church has been around since 1797 or so. I ought to see if I can get permission to dig. They moved their location a few miles down the road about 70 years ago so I think the other property is just a field.
That would be a great site to hit. I would go ask'em if you can hit it. Maybe give a small demo on how holes are dug and then covered up. Thats what I did to get on this site.
Also, todays find are from an old house that used to sit in the fron lawn of the church. They ,according to the pastor, tore it down 3 years ago and just a feild remains. I asked him today if he had any pics when it was up. He got the church photo album out and let me look through them. I counted off the square slabs of sidewalk that exists now and used them to map where the sidewalks to the house would be etc.etc. The pastor of the old church that was torn down and now rebuilt lived in this house. I have almost a whole acre of virgin soil to hit. Prolly take me 2 more weeks @ about 4 hours a day to hit it all once.

PURPLE
I've never done any metal detecting but if I did I think I'd be really happy to find anything.
I think it's a great archeological hobby and finding stuff from the past is cool.
