One of my friends was always happy with Jules J. Karp in New York, but that was awhile ago. I still see his ads running in the mags.

I had ordered XF-AUs from Karp a few times but had to send a few back last time that didn't look "good" to me. They replaced them without a hassle.

I don't think I've ever seen any lower-grade old tenor gold.

A couple of years ago I saw a VF Capped Bust to Left half eagle; the dealer was touting it as "the cheapest Capped Bust half eagle you'll ever see." Other than that, I've only seen AU and better pieces.

If you find some, please post pics, as I'd love to see them, just to know that they exist!

FYI, there is a (well) circulated 1866-S No Motto $5 (one of my favorite dates) in VG-8 offered at Kagin's for $750.
