Is this a fingerprint? (Bust Quarter)

I just received this coin and noticed an usual pattern to the toning on the second star to the top (arrow pointing). It almost looks like a fingerprint. Is that what it is? Or hopefully is it not possible to have a fingerprint on a coin that is already this well-circulated and toned.

Any coin can have a print, and that likely is an old one... I can hardly see it, and it's probably been there for over a century

Thanks. The probability that it's a 100 year old print helps me feel much better about it. Adds a little character to the coin. And it is hard to see, but it was bugging me.

Of course if anyone thinks it's not a fingerprint...don't hesitate to let me know

I'd also have to agree. That appears to be a fingerprint.

I think it's a print, but for a coin in this grade that is quite acceptable.

It might be the barest trace of a print. I also like it. (it's got some "original" on it)

There are no fingerprints, there is only 'textile' toning.

Bill, I like the original surface on your Bust Quarter. That hint of a print you pointed out, I have seen on other old original coins before. It doesn't bother me at all. Now if it were on a blast white or a modern coin, a print becomes very destracting to me. IMO.
