What's Happening To This 1922 Peace (xtra lg pict)

Looks like the top layer is coming off in some spots? What causes this? Is this "High Relief"? Worth Slabbing? Thanks All for any help given. Lee

    I've seen some Peace $ do this.... NTC slabs them.... I believe it's the way the planchet was "prepped" for stamping. Looks like a neat die break through the "N"

    I'm not sure about the grade.If you want it slabbed I would suggest ANACS.They could identify the problem and state it on the slab.

    AU-58 at best from that photo... there's rub above the eye in the hair.......
