Is this a clash or die gouge on Lincoln rev.?

Here are 2 examples of a gouge/clash between the 4th and 5th columns on a 1989P Lincoln. the first set of images shows a mark that appears to progress in the second set of pics to a more detailed mark. Any ideas?

Clash...you're looking at the back of Lincoln's nape upside down, reversed, and in reverse relief.
