Do sellers need to check the history of a coin before selling it?

No.

If every seller of a coin was required to check the history of that coin to see if it ever was stolen, or previously in a AT holder or body-bagged from a TPG service before selling it, commerce would come to a halt.

They have no moral requirement to check the history. But I think they do have a moral (though usually not legal) obligation to disclose material information they *know about* which would reasonably affect what a buyer would be willing to pay for the coin.

If they legitimately don't know, they legitimately don't know, and there's nothing wrong with that. But if they know about it, they should disclose it.

The coin's history might actually add to it's appeal for potential buyers but not necessarily the profit.

Great transactions with oih82w8, JasonGaming, Moose1913.
