Grade that Halfdime (warning: newbie post)

Evening Ladies and Gentlemen, (and the rest of you too).
I've been spying on this forum for some time, and enjoyed the topics and discussion. So, I decided to join the party.
In an effort to make as many mistakes as possible in my first post, thus getting them out of the way, I'll also offer one of my new purchases for a grading exercise. It's PCGS certified. Love the coin, and it's difficult to find in a nice circulated grade.

welcome to the Forum!

Great looking original coin! XF45?
TommyType,
Great first post! It's unusual to have someone post a nice image in their innaugural post. Welcome aboard.
Regarding your lovely 1837 half dime, I am going to guess EF-45. Is there any luster left on the coin? Hard to tell with a digi-pic.

Actually I'm new to digital photography too. So MANY things I could have screwed up! I think I still need to work on my lighting.
As for luster, I would have to say no. There's a little golden color moving in from the rims that gives it a nice halo look on the obverse, but my photo didn't capture that.
And thanks for the welcome everyone!!

Great pictures for a newbie (I'm impressed that the pic appears in the body of your post),
pretty darned nice coin, too. I'd buy it as an VF+ all day long and twice on Sunday.
I'd guess PCGS EF40 but could probably justify 5 points in either direction.
Here's my coin of the type, in somewhat lower grade than yours

It's a beautiful coin and solid XF. It looks like nice even wear on what was
at one time a nice gem. The wear is concentrated a little on the highest points
which might indicate that it was removed from circulation while still AU and much
of the wear is cabinet friction and the type of wear collectors sometimes put on
coins.
My daughter was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 2 (2003). My son was diagnosed with Type 1 when he was 17 on December 31, 2009. We were stunned that another child of ours had been diagnosed. Please, if you don't have a favorite charity, consider giving to the JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation)

XF45.
Great transactions with oih82w8, JasonGaming, Moose1913.
Thanks for the welcome's all!
Grade on the coin is in fact XF-45, matching the predominant grade by the masses. You folks are good!
(I can post a pic of the slab if required...don't have it handy).

No, it's because we're experts not necessarily dealers

<< <i>I like your style Tommy. Any other nice coins you want to show? Something "BUST"-y maybe? More pics! >>
Thanks.
I have a few coins I'd like to show off. Far too many MS-65+ wonder coins spotlighted here! Someone needs to promote the nasty circulated affordable crap.
Can't say I have an abundance of Bust coinage. A few Draped Bust halves and a dollar in the VG-F range, and enough Capped Bust type coinage to qualify for my "TommyType" name. We'll see what I can whip together. One of the things I always liked when reading this forum is the chance to see and grade alot of coins, so I'd like to give back.
