This last summer I finally got access to my grandfather's collection as a sort of birthday present... I get to catalogue it!

Well today I finally got to actually working on it. I decided to start with two small bags, totaling about 200 coins.

Thus far I have discovered:

1909-vdb lincoln
2 nickel 3-centers
8 2-centers
20 war nickels
2 large cents
1857 FE cent
2 dozen IHC
2 barber dimes
Some SLQ
A few walkers
A half-dime
And an 1878-CC Seated liberty dime


The 1878-CC SLD is not in the best of shape G-VG details, but it looks like something chewed on it and is slightly bent. Any ideas what it might be worth?

The '78-CC is a somewhat better date SLD, but not a key by any stretch. Depending on how bent and chewed up, I'd guess $5 to $20.
