I like the idea of the buffalo's return, but I can't help but think it's somehow disrespectful to the original. (That is if you can disrespect a coin).
Great transactions with oih82w8, JasonGaming, Moose1913.

Exactly!
It's sort of like when new coke came out.

Seriously, until I see one in hand, I've not formulated an opinion one way or the other. Part of me is excited since I too collect Buffalo nickels and have always loved the design, but I'm also worried the design will look 2-D and I'll be left dissappointed.
I love the idea of more people appreciating the beauty of the old Buffalo nickels, but the prices are high enough. I don't want any more competition in this arena.
So many things today are ripoffs from the past rather than new works of creativity. Look at Hollywood. It's all about sequels, remakes, turning novels and comic books into film. Only rarely does a truly original, top-caliber new idea come forward.
So it is here. Rather than create new beautiful designs, all we can do is recycle the old ones. Is there really that much of a creativity vacuum out there?
And frankly, I'm getting tired of these one-year special issue designs. It clutters up type sets and does little to affect LONG-TERM change in our coin designs.
