Help buying Franklins and Roosies.

I have a woman who wants to sell me about 30 raw Franklins from the 40's and 50's and Roosies at about the same dates. I am wondering what I should look for and how I should figure what I should pay for them. I do not know the condition and will not until I see them. Are there key dates that I would pay more for even in the circulated ranges? I am hoping to fill my collection with most and either trade or sell the rest for a little more than I bought them for. I am not expecting to make a killing, but I do want to be fair to both of us. Any help would greatly be appreciated. -Dan

Undamaged S-mint halfs are worth $3.25 wholesale. Attractive XF/AU key dates bring
premiums. The scarcest have some value even in VF, but that's just the '49-S and '52-D
if memory serves. It's hard to get much premium for any circ Roosies but really nice '49-S's
    are worth extra.

Figure a minimum of 4X face for fairness and really 5X is closer to reality.

Thanks cladking. That will give me enough info to start with.

Should I buy all of them or pick what I want.

If you are going to trade or sell the ones you don't need, just buy them all.

New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.
