New DESIGN...New hope for US coinage!!

As a collector of Saints, I have longed for the day when the US Mint rediscovered the DESIRE for an aesthetically great coin. I am amazed and excited by the soon to be released Jefferson Nickle. What a spectacular design!! Hopefully they will continue on this path and redesign all of our modern coinage. It's certainly time, with our present coins having the longest run in US history without design changes.

I may even have to go out and buy a dozen rolls when they are released...reminds me of when I was a kid...fresh rolls of 1964 Kennedy Halves!!

It's great that they are issuing more than one design. I personally like the keelboat and ocean view reverses best.

I hope the depth of the images comes through on the coins themselves. The pictures look great, but, in my opinion, the recent changes by the Mint, although great, come off looking too flat on the coin.

I'm waiting to see the actual coins in person before passing judgement... I think the Jeffalo will probally look good in proof... but, I have my doubts it will look as good on a business strike... I think the oceanfront one looks stupid...

Agreed! Great new designs for sure! I just wish they'd make the Bison design with the high relief and deeply basined fields seen on the originals tho.
