Can PQ coins still be found on Teletrade?

Honestly, I can't recall seeing a highend coin on Teletrade since I can remember. Is it just me?

Every now and then I find one there for my type set. But there are a lot of people chasing the PQ pieces, so forget about getting a bargain.

When I add stuff to my watch list there, I mentally keep a list of the ones that match my search that I think are PQ and the ones that just make the grade. The ones I thought to be PQ are regularly bid well over "sheet" values, and the ordinary coins go relatively cheaply.

The last time I saw a high-end toned Morgan dollar on Teletrade was several years ago in their first rainbow sale. Since that time, I can't say that a single such coin offered in their sales sparked my interest.
  • The last coin I bid on/bought on Teletrade was in November, 2001 (a 1939-D rev '38 5c ANACS MS67
with gorgeous vivid color) and it's still one of my favorite coins.

Coincidentally, I plan on bidding on a coin tonight! image

The PCGS-PR70DCAM and PCGS-MS70 material TT has been selling is, IMHO, spectacular quality coins overall. I have personally seen the lions share of all of it - I have consigned some and have lot viewed most of the rest of it. Just my 2 cents.

I'm not looking for a bargain (did I just say that?) as I'm more than willing to pay extra for an extra nice piece, I'm just not seeing the extra nice pieces anymore. image

I wouldn't discount Teletrade. A lot of people consign coins there simply because they don't want the hassle of selling them on ebay.

    A very wise statement! image

I expect you got a better deal than I on it, from a monetary standpoint, but I've
now been able to enjoy the coin for nearly 3 years, so the price-per-view ratio
is heading in the right direction. Thanks again for making it happen! image

    Here is a crappy scan:

  • Yea that is a crappy scan as I remember alot more color in the centers then is showing in your picture, I took the money from selling that and bought a nice 1883 PCGS 65 toned Morgan (shown below) so I guess everybody won in that deal. image

It's been awhile ... I used to be able to pick up some great early Jeff proofs at bottom dollar prices before the market really took off ... now they are chased to levels that don't tempt me.
  • And I just won my second coin in three years. Not a high-dollar rarity, but I've been
working on my 1963DCAM birthyear set for awhile, and this quarter came up tonight.

PCGS PR68DCAM for about $75 with fees & shipping. We'll know for sure when I get
it in hand, but this looks like a PQ coin for the grade to me. image
